During the summer UCOMM was able to offer a free day trip to it's members and families who volunteered during the Sausage Project. This is a project where UCOMM applied for funding so that the organisation could use the funding to run activities focusing on promoting employability, confidence and life skills for black and minority ethnic women. This included sausage making classes, health awareness sessions and life skills workshops, with the aim of helping to increase their confidence, learn new skills and reduce their isolation.
Judging by the big smiles on the photos, it looks like not even the rain could dampen the spirits of the UCOMM members. Many were grateful for the opportunity to visit Chester Zoo for the first time, and we had excellent feedback from everyone that attended. Many thanks once again to all the UCOMM Volunteers and the Trustees who were able to make this trip a reality.
